Viva Italia!

Today, Dave, myself, and many, many New Zealanders woke up at 5:30 AM on a Monday to watch the finals for the World Cup. It was all worthwhile, as a drama-packed game ended with my beloved Italy taking home the Cup after a 5-3 penalty shootout. Well done!

(Now, if only someone could tell me what the hell Zidane was thinking, with that head-butt that probably cost France everything? What was THAT about?)

it was too bad he had to finish his career in such a way.. but there is speculation of a racial comment that caused him to loose his cool by the italian player... anyways it will be interesting to hear the real reason..

Sure, but two can play at THAT game -- last I heard, Italian guys *especially* hate lewd or slanderous comments about their mothers. Instead of violence, Zidane could have taken advantage of that, if he'd been "using his head"...

Who'd have thought that Zidane's reputation could have been saved with a well-placed "yo' mama..." joke, eh? ;-)

hey Karla
greetings from Prince Edward Island where we are checking our e-mail parked beside the village store an encroaching on it's wireless. The cottage that we are all in has no internet. It does have a beautiful view of the ocean and we were out on the Atlantic yesterday to spread Mr. Hartley's ashes. We miss you at occasions such as this.
